Pupil Premium Subsidy

What is the Pupil Premium Subsidy?

The Pupil Premium subsidy provides additional funding to raise the attainment of disadvantaged pupils in publicly funded schools. Its purpose is to ensure that no child is left behind and that children can develop to their fullest potential. This academic year the Pupil Premium allocation was £1320 for pupils in Reception up until Year 6.

How can I find out if my child is entitled to funding?

Those eligible for the Pupil Premium are any child who has received Free School Meals over the past 6 years; children who are cared for or those adopted from care; and children whose parents are in the armed forces. You can check online using the London Grid for Learning website https://pps.lgfl.org.uk/ . This is quick and easy providing an immediate Yes or No answer.

How do we use the funding?

At Floreat Wandsworth we believe that there should be no barriers to a child’s learning and growth. We see the Pupil Premium as key to this and endeavour to use the funds to provide resources to the children that need them most.

In order to ensure that every child flourishes we provide the following to our Pupil Premium children:

- full school uniform

- subsidised access to after school clubs such as Singing, Spanish or Football.

- extra 1:1 intervention time as required e.g. reading or fine motor support

- subsidised access to Kids' City breakfast and after school club

- resources as required e.g. stationery and reading books to keep at home

- subsidised trips

We are always on the lookout for new ways to put the funding to the best possible use and work closely with parents and the community to achieve this.

The school and the governors have reviewed the spending since we opened in 2015 and the strategies and impact of this expenditure are published in the report below.
