Welcome to Floreat Wandsworth Nursery

Floreat Wandsworth Nursery is a vital part of our school. It is situated in its own section of the school building and has direct access to a large EYFS playground that is shared with Reception. The children have access to the two further playgrounds, one of which has a large climbing frame and trim-trail. Our approach to learning is centred around the child and our staff have the experience and knowledge to close the gaps and get the best from our youngest learners.

During the school day, the children enjoy a wide range of activities including, carpet time, group time and time to follow their own interests. The children can access the rest of the school’s resources including Character, Jigsaw, Spanish, PE and dance lessons. We are also excited to announce that the children will take part in a spring and summer Forest School programme.

Nursery and Beyond

We hope that by joining our nursery, you will continue your commitment to our school by applying for our Reception once your child becomes statutory school age. We know that the early childhood years are vital and we want your child to continue a full education at Floreat Wandsworth Primary School and Nursery as this will provide them with the best start.

Nursery Hours

2, 3 and 4-year-old hours and funding

15 hours: Monday and Tuesday 9am – 3.30pm Wednesday 9am – 11am
15 hours: Wednesday 1pm – 3.30pm Thursday 9am-3.30pm Friday 9am – 3pm
30 Hours: Monday,Tuesday & Thursday 8.30am – 3.30pm, Wednesday 8.30am – 11am, Friday 8.30am – 3pm
34.5 Hours: same as 30 hours with a top up of 4.5 hours on Wednesdays

Nursery Curriculum

Forest School

Forest school starts in January and will run every Wednesday thereafter. The wonderful team at "Think Outside" will facilitate the sessions alongside our floreat staff members. Forest school will take place on-site in our garden, allowing the children to explore nature in a safe, outdoor environment. The school will provide waterproof jackets and trousers for each child, so parents only need to ensure their child brings wellies. Please label your child’s wellies to avoid any mix-ups. We look forward to these fun, educational experiences in the great outdoors!
